Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Hoist collects, why, and the choices you have. Hoist is a link-in-bio and product-recommendation service. We aim to collect as little as we need to run it.

Information we collect

• Contact details. If you join the waitlist or create a page, we collect your email address and the handle you choose.
• Page content. The links, product boards, descriptions, and images you add to your page.
• Connected accounts. When you verify a social account, the provider (for example YouTube via Google) shares a limited set of profile data so we can confirm you own that account and show a verification badge. We store only what is needed for that check, such as your channel or account identifier and handle.
• Usage data. Aggregate analytics (via Google Analytics) and click counts on the links and products on public pages, so creators can see what performs.

How we use it

• To create and display your public page and product boards.
• To verify ownership of connected accounts and award verification badges.
• To measure and show performance (page visits, link and product clicks).
• To contact you about your account, the waitlist, or important service changes.

Google user data

Hoist's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request read-only access to confirm you own a channel and to display it. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with third parties except as needed to provide the verification feature or where required by law.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Public pages are, by design, public. Some product links are affiliate links, meaning we or the creator may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. We use a small number of service providers to run Hoist (cloud hosting on AWS, database hosting on MongoDB Atlas, analytics via Google Analytics), who process data only on our instructions.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account or waitlist entry is active. You can ask us to delete your account, your connected-account data, or your waitlist entry at any time by emailing privacy@hoist.bio. We will delete it within a reasonable period unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

• Disconnect a verified account at any time from your studio.
• Request a copy or deletion of your data via the email below.
• Opt out of analytics using standard browser controls or extensions.
